hey. yesterday marked the end of non-obs program. it was quite alright this few days just that i drank like days of vinegar. if you get what i mean... but the fun during the non-obs program neutralised quite a fair amount of the acid.
DAY 1
As planned, I went to the void deck to meet sherlyn and the others. Sherlyn was there. Xinyu and tris too. After a while, came the others. They were showing and comparing the humongous bags, which had a very high chance of exploding out the clothes any time. LOL. and me... sat there and drank a bottle full of vinegar. not forgetting, the ecstatic faces compounded the acidity. haha.
However, after the obs people boarded on the buses and the non-obs administrative matters were taken care of, we went for a 20 mins breakfast break.
Then, we reached national museum punctually. The museum architechture was awesome and indeed, we gawked at them. The museum consists of a few galleries. We didn't have a long whole day to spend there, and hence, we only visited the history and living gallaries.
First stop for our group was the history gallery. I nearly freaked out at the darkness and 'eeriness' of the gallery... haha. Oh ya, each of us were given a 'companion'(an audio device to guide us in the gallary). I took some pictures in the gallery too.
Sorry... I guess the image quality wasn't that good because I forgot to bring my camera throughout the whole program except on wednesday. however, the camera's battery was flat! oh dear me. I took them with my lousy hp.
The architechure of the museum.
pictures tell a thousand words. :)
DAY 2 & 3
The approximately 80 non-obs students were split into two groups according to classes.
On day 2, Group A went to NUS baba house while Group B went to NUS museum for cartoon workshop. Siva and I were in Group B.
We toured the constructed landscape gallery first before going for the cartoon workshop. The pieces showcased were totally amazing but dumb me... i forgot to bring the camera. yes, dumbo huh?
Hence, the hp's camera again.
Siva and I were totally stunned when the facilitator asked us to show and present our work( which we anyhow doodled while he was giving us a talk). It was kinda hilarous when both of us went in front and crapped out anything we could possibly think of. hahas.
On the third day, Group B went for the NUS baba house and group A went to NUS museum.
The baba house is situated at Neil road. The house was really fab. The embroidery, mirrors, furniture, ornaments, and almost everything in the house were of top quality. They really do cost a bomb. I didn't managed to take any photos though. The guide led us around it and we could answer most of the questions right. haha, i guess we learnt more about the peranakan culture after watching little nonyna. (:
DAY 4
Of all the days during the non-obs program, i found day 4 the most exciting and fun. We visited sungei buloh wet land reserve first before heading to bollyhood veggies.
We were only allowed about 20-30 mins to wander and explore. At a point, screaming at the front of the group warned us all that there was some creepy stuff. It was a huge spider! haha. The swamps were nice but the water kind of stinks.
we could even see malaysia. When I fished out my hp to snap a photo, i realised that the network line was even changed to 'My Celcom', a malaysia line. Sungei buloh is really near malaysia i guess. in sungei buloh
Can u spot malaysia?
Later, we moved back to the bus. Initially, we all thought that some students were lost when they went to find the toliet. So, the teachers went around to find them and some other students tried calling them. though, they couldn't reach them. Panic started to prick some of them. After about 5 mins, the girls were back. It was 'sigh-heaving jiff.
The bollywood veggies greeted us with cow dung! it stinked really. howvere, we had a fun time there, where we potted our own plant and had a mini competition. Mrs Kong(ex TKGS teacher) was there! She is currently helping out in the farm i guess and our group was honored to be given a tour round the farm by her. (:
Running around in the hot scorching sun didn't make me tan though.
SAD.
DAY 5
We had a great three periods watching 'kong fu panda' and 30 mins of 'charlotte's web'. Kong fu panda was hilarious. Recess was at 10. CNY celebrations started at 11 and ended at 12.30. As usual, all the fashion parade, videos, and dragon cum lion dances. o.0
It all ended when the bell rang.
